Nasal Polypectomy
Nasal polyps are a difficult problem that affect a certain percentage of patients with severe chronic allergic rhinosinusitis. Often times these patients may also have asthma, eczema or aspirin sensitivity in addition to nasal polyposis. In these patients the goal of treatment is to improve nasal obstruction and sinus pressure to the best of our abilities with surgical options and then institute various medical options to maintain ones allergies to a minimum in order to prevent recurrence of the polyps. As such, Dr. Alen Cohen and Dr. Jerome Vener at C/V ENT Surgical Group, in Los Angeles and Thousand Oaks, usually begin with minimally invasive image-guided endoscopic sinus surgery with or without septoplasty and turbinate surgery to remove all of the polypoid disease and open the sinus ostia so you can breathe better and then put you on a rigorous treatment protocol for your allergies to prevent their recurrence.
