Tear troughs are those semi-circular depressions which start at the edge of the nose and run along the bottom of the lower eyelids just above the cheek bone. These depressions can produce the illusion of darkening around the eyes resulting in dark circles or tired eyes. This is phenomenally difficult to correct surgically even with blepharoplasty.
